Winner of Stableford event Di Ballantyne with Crow's Nest winner Robyn Downs who received a box of balls.

The stableford event was a fun day with the challenge of using just three clubs.

After the game, most players agreed that they probably carry too many clubs because they came in with reasonable scores using three clubs.

Di Ballantyne won the day with 33 points on countback from Judy Baker.

Ball winners were Liz Mulcahy, Janine Morgan 32, and Deb Reilly on 31 points.

Nearest-the-pins went to Elaine Dunk on the third (Gallery Café), Di Ballantyne on the sixth (Tatura Hot Bread) and Robyn Downs on the 14th (One 4 One Café).

Robyn’s ball was only centimetres from the hole, which gave her the ‘‘crow’s nest’’ prize — a box of balls and the thrill of scoring a birdie.

Nine-hole competition: Pauline Moroney made a welcome return to golf by winning the event.

Roylyn Harris received a ball.

Golf lessons: On Sunday, June 18, Julie Gregg and Elaine Dunk will be conducting golf lessons for junior and women golfers wanting to learn or to improve their golf.

Junior lessons start at 10.30am, while the women’s lessons begin at 1pm.

Everyone is encouraged to come along to Hill Top Golf Club and have a try; equipment not essential. Phone Ged at Hill Top on 58241689 for more information.

Wednesday’s Event: Stableford, sponsored by Sue Nihill.
