Yarrawonga’s Ross Mulquiney will play his 200th football game with the club this Saturday against Corowa-Rutherglen at the J C Lowe Oval.
The 38-year-old’s 89 senior games and 111 reserves matches represent a significant achievement at Pigeonland. A youngster growing up in Telford, Ross graduated in Melbourne, is currently a partner at Hargraves Solicitors and well known in the Yarrawonga community.
Ross has had a strong involvement with Yarrawonga Football Netball Club since signing on to return home in February 2006.
In that year, he played a huge role in the Pigeons premiership, featuring in the best players. His time has been significant in playing both seniors and reserves premierships of 2011, 2012 and 2016.
Ross won the reserves best and fairest in 2013 and 2016, as well as the O and M League’s top individual awards in those two years.
He has also fitted into his schedule to coach the AWJFL Under 16 Boys and winning premierships. Ross’s involvement off the field at Yarrawonga has also been most appreciated.
Ross is wished all the best at Pigeonland, and is thanked for his contribution both on and off the field.
