MEMBER for Murray Plains Peter Walsh is calling for nominations of local women to the Victorian Honour Roll of Women for 2017.
Mr Walsh said the Women’s Honour Roll, established in 2001, celebrated the achievements of Victorian women in a wide range of fields, including culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, women with a disability and younger, regional and rural women.
“It’s a tremendous pleasure to call for local nominations for the Victorian Honour Roll of Women for 2017,” Mr Walsh said.
“It is important we recognise and celebrate women in our rural and regional communities who are making extraordinary contributions through their vision, leadership, commitment and hard work,” he said.
Mr Walsh said more than 600 Victorian women have been inducted onto the roll since 2001.
“If people know of a local woman who is a genuine role model through her contribution to her community then nominating her for the Victorian Honour Roll of Women is a tremendous way of saying thank you,” he said.
Nominees must be either born in Victoria, have spent a considerable part of their life in Victoria or have made a significant contribution to Victoria.
Nominations close on July 17. Further details at vic.gov.au/honourrollofwomen
