The Victoria Racing Club is pleased to invite all members of Victorian provincial and country race clubs to Flemington on Saturday, June 24, as well as residents from country and regional areas.
Provincial and country race club members will have the opportunity to experience the magic of Flemington, with complimentary racecourse admission and entry into the exclusive VRC Members Enclosure.
Residents from Victorian provincial and country areas can also gain free general admission entry to Flemington by presenting ID showing their residential address with postcode.
Provincial and Country Raceday will feature the David Bourke Provincial Plate (1600m) for horses that have participated in at least three non-metropolitan races in the past 12 months.
The race is named in honour of Mr David J. Bourke CBE (1930-2005), former Chairman of the VRC and founding member of the Victorian Country Racing Council.
Members of country and provincial race clubs are can apply for complimentary VRC Members Enclosure Daily Guest Passes for themselves to collect passes on the day, by printing off and filling in the online form at flemington.com.au and bringing this to the gate on raceday.
The offer will include a $10 food and beverage voucher per person and a chance to sign up for a tour of the VRC Heritage Centre, plus the opportunity to have their photograph taken with the 2017 Emirates Melbourne Cup trophy, which will be in The View on Level 4 of The Grandstand from 12pm to 2pm.
Members are reminded to bring their provincial or country race club membership card on the day. VRC Members dress regulations will apply.
Gates open at 10.40am, with the first of nine races at 11.40am, with special trains travelling to Flemington from Southern Cross Station.
