Rochester courier Wayne Lynch has not missed a day’s work, despite watching the horrific train accident at Kerang unfold in front of him two weeks ago while on the job.
Mr Lynch was following the truck that collided with the train about 6km north of Kerang on June 5.
He had just finished delivering goods to a dairy farm on the Murray Valley Hwy about 1km from the railway crossing.
When he went to turn out of the driveway, he saw a truck approaching him.
‘‘I had the option of going in front of him or letting him go,’’ Mr Lynch said.
‘‘I wasn’t in a hurry, so I let him go.’’
He then pulled out onto the road behind the truck and could only watch in horror.

A $2 million expansion at Murray Goulburn’s Rochester plant will provide extra production, as well as improving waste disposal.
The improvements will alleviate problems of smell from the company’s waste disposal site north of Rochester.
Installation of the new plant began last week and will continue in the coming week.
Equipment to be installed includes an evaporator, dryer and further powder storage.
The evaporator was purchased in New Zealand and is expected to arrive soon — in five six-metre containers and two 12-metre containers.
The dryer came from the company’s Yarram Plant.

A very late indent order has this week been opened at Cheetham’s Speciality Stores from Dr Jaegar’s famous mills in London, comprising ladies and children’s pure shrinkable woollen singlets in natural and white.
These are being made a feature during the cash sale and are worthy of investigation.
Messrs Herbert Spencer and Co elsewhere announce that the clearing sale on account of Mr W S Locke, Nanneella will be on Tuesday next (19th) having been postponed from the 13th owing to bad weather.
