The private car park opposite the Coles supermarket in Vaughan St, Shepparton will now be limited to three hours.
Greater Shepparton City Council said it had been contracted by the Coles supermarket to monitor and enforce time limits in the commercial precinct, so their shoppers were more easily able to access parking, particularly during busy times of the year.
There is no fee payable for the car park, however, there is a three-hour time limit between 9am and 5.30pm.
The private car park will now be monitored and time limits enforced by council parking officers and fines issued for exceeding the time limit.
New signage has been installed at all entrances to remind people of the three-hour limit.
Council will be issuing warnings for the next two weeks with fines being issued as at June 29.
