Kath Bubb (right), pictured with daughter Helen, is recognised for 50 years service with Ballendella Red Cross in Bendigo earlier this month.

IT HAS been a busy 12 months for the Ballendella Red Cross.

Coming together for their annual meeting on June 8, the group celebrated the year’s activities.

These included the morning coffee with Danny Bleum Fashion, entry in the Christmas tree display, the Rochester Show, laying a wreath on Anzac Day, entry in the St John’s Fair and recently the raffle and Mother’s Day street stall.

‘‘Danni Kelly from the Bendigo Red Cross Office attended and saw the executive committee returned unopposed,’’ member Lyn Hyden said.

‘‘She congratulated each member for their enthusiastic work for the Red Cross.

‘‘Kath Bubb was also celebrated for receiving her 50 year service medal at Government House last December.

‘‘Kath has held the treasury position for more than 30 years at our branch.’’

Ms Hyden said the group’s efforts raised more than $1700 this year.

‘‘A bring and share afternoon tea with plenty of chit chat concluded the rewarding afternoon,’’ she said.

‘‘And our next meeting will be held on August 10.’’
