Yarrawonga Bowls Club Inc
Winter has finally arrived and the rain has started; the farmers are rubbing their hands together with glee, but bowlers are not as it stopped even the hardened bowlers from getting out there on the greens this week.
Members only managed to play 1 of the scheduled games this week and that was on Monday, July 3 when they played Nominated Pairs with 16 teams on the greens.
The winners of the day were Jock McQualter and Liz Murdoch, with the runners-up being Tony Forristal and his partner Holland.
The Jackpot was not claimed on the day so it has been carried over until Monday, July 10.
The games scheduled for this week are Wednesday, July 12 Jackpot
Triples, Saturday, July 15 Social Bowls and Monday, July 17 Nominated Pairs 2-4-2. All games start at 12.30pm and entry for these games close at 11am on the day of the game.
Until next week keep warm, good health and good bowling to all.
Wednesday pairs were unfortunately washed out, but the rain was a welcome sight.
Friday was a lot kinder to members and 28 bowlers stepped out onto the green, drawing for partners seems to be welcomed by most people.
Three teams won both their games and the winning combination was Siggi Rempel and the little livewire Pam Fry (Pam only had to put Siggi back in his box once) with 2 wins and 5 shots up.
Runners-up were Ian Cumming and Neville Coleman with 1 win and 17 shots up, the jackpot failed to go off.
Any bowler who needs a new shirt or jacket for the upcoming pennant season please put your name on the sheet in the bowls section.
