Berrigan back in finals race

Berrigan’s thirds had a big win over Blighty on Saturday to put the Saints back in the finals race in the Picola Football League.

All the Saints played extremely well together in the wet conditions at their home ground.

Colby Hellyer-Maud kicked 10 goals for Berrigan, while Ben Fox slotted seven majors and Brad Loats five.

Scores, Berrigan 25.7 to Blighty three behinds.

Midfielders Fraser Haintz and Tom Whelan along with backmen Mason Peters and Riley Nolen played their usual impressive game for the home side.

The win saw the Saints claim fifth spot by percentage.

Blake Charlton was the Redeyes’ best, supported by Darcy Webb, Ronan Waters, Billy Michael and Tom Cochrane.

Berrigan’s fourths went down by six goals to Blighty.

Better players for Berrigan were John O’Neill, Aiden Fennell, James Curtin, Max Cameron, Caleb Thornton and Tyson Sharp-Shorney.

Kane Morris was Blighty’s best, kicking two goals, while Connor Jacobsen (two goals), Tom Cochrane (one), Will Bull, Jack Gavel and Taylon Cardwell all played well.
