Vet to speak at auxiliary meeting

July 13, 2017

Jill Clapperton will speak at the next Tatura Hospital Ladies Auxillary meeting about life as a veterinary graduate.

The public is invited to attend the Tatura Hospital Ladies Auxiliary’s annual general meeting, which will be held in St Mary’s Hall on Thursday, July 27, at 2pm.

Jill Clapperton will be the guest speaker and will speak to guests about the trials and triumphs of a new veterinary graduate.

Jill graduated as a vet in 1990 and shortly afterwards moved to the Goulburn Valley to take up a position in a mixed veterinary practice.

After an inauspicious start, she soon learned that veterinary science was as much about the characters and characteristics of humans as it was about their pets and farm animals she treated.

Everyone is welcome to attend and hear her story, which is sure to be most interesting.

There will be a raffle, trading table and a delicious afternoon tea served with the assistance of the Catholic Women’s League.

The generous cheque the auxiliary received from the Byrneside Depression Drainage Group will be allocated to the purchase of a new bed for the hospital.
