Numbers increased with more cows penned at last Wednesday’s sale — up by 70 to 430 penned in total.
There was a mix of everything, from lines of young store cattle to supplementary fed vealers and yearlings.
Prices for the plainer bred or unfinished stock came back, while the best of the young cattle were fully firm to slightly dearer in some places.
Cow prices remained firm on a fortnight ago.
The B and C muscled vealers ranged from 315c to 396c to average 365c/kg.
The medium and heavy yearling steers made from 305c to 364c, while the C muscled yearling heifer portion ranged from 290c to 357c, with the C3’s averaging 339c/kg.
Local feedlotters still remained active.
Not many heavy bullocks were penned and prices remained similar to last sale.
The 500-600kg steers made to 312c and the 600kg plus bullocks reached 302c/kg.
The heavy beef cows made from 215c to 254c and the dairy portion made from 218c to 225c/kg.
