Good music and great cuisine was enjoyed at the monthly Muso Night at the Deniliquin Club last Friday.
Guests enjoyed a delicious Indian buffet, which was provided by the Deniliquin Multicultural Group as part of an ongoing series of monthly ‘pop-up’ restaurants.
Group founder Martin Wilmshurst said it was a very successful evening.
‘‘Over 50 people turned up and many more missed out,’’ Mr Wilmshurst said.
‘‘For just $20, patrons enjoyed authentic butter chicken with yoghurt, vegetable curry, chick pea curry, rice, poppadoms and samosas — many came back for top-ups.
‘‘Everyone expressed how much they enjoyed the buffet before the evening of music commenced,’’ he said.
Seema Sha, Gina McGrath, Marisol Zegarra and Marisol’s mother, Susana Vidarte — who is visiting from Peru — were the talented cooks behind the buffet.
Mr Wilmshurst said the Multicultural Group plan to hold similar evenings in the future, with a different nationality’s cuisine featured each month.
The group was inspired to launch the pop-up restaurant following the success of its now annual Multicultural Festival, which was first held in August last year.
