Deniliquin Stadium recently hosted its High School and 12 and under basketball grand finals.

In the High School basketball decider it was Yellow who were triumphant over a depleted Silver team.

Unfortunately for Silver they were missing a couple of players due to footy injuries with stadium manager John Arthur praising the efforts of the side.

‘‘It was a high standard game with plenty of skill,’’ he said.

‘‘In the end Yellow made full advantage of their rotations and got over the top of Silver.

‘‘Ben East, Alec Buckley and Cable Fitzpatrick all led well for Yellow but Silver put in plenty of fight with no rotations.’’

In the 12 and under grand final it was Yellow who were victorious over Blue.

Arthur said the competition was a huge success.

‘‘It was great to see all the 10 and under youngsters come along for some friendly games, too,’’ he said.

‘‘For the 10 and under it’s all about fun, participation and improving their skills and they’ve come so far with their basketball.’’
