Lions Club members from the area participating in NEED FOR FEED with Fairlys IGA in Shepparton.

Tatura Lions Club's new president Bill Milner with past president Doug Tuhan and Margaret Stewart officiating.

The Mactier Park community barbecue launch with Lions Victoria's Laurie Cooper, Greater Shepparton City Councillor Dennis Patterson and Doug Tuhan. Cooks Charlie Lawson, John Mapson and Malcolm Campbell worked the grill.

The Tatura Lions Club donated almost $40000 to the community during 2016/17 with members hailing the past 12 months as a great success.

A spokesperson for the club said they were over the moon to have gained new members as well as bringing a new event to the town — TatFest.

‘‘Our barbecue project in Mactier Park was finally installed and has had a lot of use,’’ they said.

‘‘Some items we have been involved in are The Community Market, Meals on Wheels, Wood Raffle, Tat200, football gates and many clearing sales.’’

Under the guidance of president Doug Tuhan and the support of the community, the club donated a total of $38954.

‘‘We thank our outgoing committee for all their hard work, and we wish to welcome our incoming committee headed by president Bill Milner.

‘‘The club would like to invite any member of the public to join us on a dinner meeting night and see how friendly we are and how we operate.

‘‘Please call our secretary on 0416494476.’’
