Under 14s: Tocumwal 10.7 (67) def. Deni Rovers 1.4 (10).

The Junior Bloods faced their biggest challenge playing the second placed Rovers last week, and to their credit, after facing some genuine pressure early in the game the boys responded beautifully.

Under 17s: Tocumwal 5.7 (37) def. by Deni Rovers 12.10 (82).

The Bloods got off to a good start but dropped away in the second half. Tom and Jesse Barker and Mitchell Reilly dominated through the middle — their run and carry was fantastic.

Tyrone Smithers and Jesse Colston’s work was good in the backline and James Balcombe stepped it up.

It’s a must win game this week against Mathoura, with the Bloods needing to down the Timbercutters to make finals.

Reserves: Tocumwal 2.0 (12) def. by Deni Rovers 11.10 (76).

The undermanned twos took to the field against a good opposition and put up a wonderful effort.

The game began evenly before the Rovers slammed on three quick goals to take a 21 point first quarter lead.

The Bloods battled with Tim Brunskill and Corey Herezo defending hard, denying Deni any easy goals. Ben Herezo and Jeremy Rush played well, taking the game on and causing some headaches for the opposition.

The Bloods were one player down for the entire second half but were able to limit the Rovers to five goals for the remainder of the game.

Under 17s player Jesse Barker played well as did Jordan Poynton and Glyn Matters.
