Campaspe Shire Mayor Adrian Weston said our rural landscape provides the perfect backdrop for that special photograph.

GET out your camera bag and polish your camera lens — this year’s ‘‘My Campaspe’’ photo competition is here.

Locals are encouraged to capture the essence of where they live, with the winning photos set to feature in Campaspe Shire’s 2018 calendar.

Campaspe Shire Mayor Adrian Weston said our rural landscape provides the perfect backdrop for that special photograph.

“Whether it’s the river, parks, gardens or countryside, whatever you love, we want to see.

“There is no better surrounding than within our shire to capture that perfect picture of a favourite place or face,” Cr Weston said.

The competition runs from August 2 to September 21 and is open to everyone. School students are especially encouraged to enter as part of a class project or simply to earn some extra pocket money.

Photographs are limited to five per entrant and the best images chosen will be included in a free, full colour calendar. Each of these winning entries will also receive $50.

Selected photos for the competition will form part of council’s photographic library and feature in promotional publications, council reports and on social media.

“It’s a great opportunity to bring out your artistic flair and visually portray what you like best about our great region,’’ Cr Weston said.

“The trick is to capture the moment naturally as it happens.’’

Photographs can be taken from cameras, smartphones or any other photographic device so long as the image is of a high resolution.

Terms and conditions as well as entry forms can be found on council’s website. Completed forms along with the high resolution image should be forwarded to comms@campaspe.vic.gov.au
