New blood on KDHS board

THE BOARD of Directors at Kyabram and District Health Services will feature some fresh faces after three long-time members retired recently.

THE BOARD of Directors at Kyabram and District Health Services will feature some fresh faces after three long-time members retired recently.

The resigning members are as follows:

■ Maureen Atkins contributed to the board for 17½ years, including the position of chairperson for two years, providing significant input into the clinical, corporate and the community and cultural governance committees.

■ Jean Courtney contributed to the board for 16½ years, providing significant input into the clinical, corporate and community and cultural governance committees, and the Tongala health governance committee.

■ Adam Basile contributed to the board for four years, bringing his local knowledge to the community and cultural governance committee.

“We are sincerely grateful and indebted to these members who have given up their valuable time to provide great contributions to the development and progression of health services in the Kyabram catchment, Tongala and Stanhope communities for such a significant period of time,’’ said board chair Geoffrey Cootes.

KDHS will continue its long and proud history of effective leadership and governance, with the following new members added to the Board of Directors for the coming term:

■ Olivia Mitchell – Olivia works as a researcher at The University of Melbourne, Department of Rural Health, Shepparton. Olivia has a Doctorate in Philosophy and Bachelor of Science (Pharmacology and Biochemistry). Olivia is looking forward to using her expertise in a number of fields, particularly stakeholder engagement, to the board and KDHS.

■ Dr Gino Toncich – Gino is an emergency specialist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Gino is a Fellow of the Australian College for Emergency Medicine, has a Masters of Business Administration and a Diploma of Anaesthetics. Gino is looking forward to bringing his expertise to the board.

Mr Cootes as board chair, Nicole Ryan as vice chair and Dale Denham, Judy Greer, Lyndal Humphris and Paul Jackson will all continue on the board.
