Central IGA Deniliquin is celebrating its 21st birthday by giving away gifts to the community.
In conjunction with the Pastoral Times, co-owners Rob Hallum and Corina and Glenn Beames started the special birthday giveaways by offering five $200 vouchers through an online promotion.
Entrants were asked to share why they love shopping at the locally owned supermarket on both the Pastoral Times Facebook page and Central IGA’s Facebook page.
The online voucher winners were Danica Reeves, Trish McCormick, Bec Wallace, Lorene Hare and Leesa Muir, who all received their prize this week.
Danica says she visits Central IGA every Thursday to do her shopping, often with her young children by her side.
‘‘I prefer to shop at IGA because in doing so I am supporting locals,’’ Mrs Reeves said.
‘‘The produce that comes from IGA has always been, and I’m sure will continue to be, fantastic.
‘‘The staff that work at IGA are always friendly, happy and go above and beyond to help you out.’’
Trish says ‘fresh is always best’, which is why Central IGA’s produce is so popular.
‘‘I prefer to shop at IGA Deni for its commitment to supporting the community of Deni, plus they have a huge range of products and fresh fruits and veg,’’ she said.
‘‘The staff are always awesome, too.’’
Both Danica and Trish started scanning the shelves of the supermarket yesterday for what they might spend their vouchers on, and each said the grocery vouchers would come in handy.
Other winning entires were:
Bec Wallace – It’s in their slogan ‘locals supporting locals’, that’s why I shop at IGA Deniliquin. The produce is always at its freshest and they are happy to get things in for you if they don’t already stock it. Friendly customer service is always a bonus too.
Lorene Hare – I prefer to shop at Deniliquin IGA because I like to support our local business owners. The staff are friendly and always helpful and the weekly specials make IGA competitive. Happy 21st!
Leesa Muir – ‘Locals supporting Locals!’ is the caption used by Central IGA and that’s exactly what they do. Supporting local farmers and food producers, supporting local clubs and groups, supporting local events and fundraisers. When I shop at IGA I enjoy knowing by shopping and supporting our local store I’m also helping to support all those that benefit from a donation or in kind support from Central IGA’s generosity.
