Cobram and District Specialist School are holding various fundraising events in the lead up to Yarrawonga’s Relay For Life to be held in October.

The school will also be participating in the relay and Cobram on the Murray Leo’s Club have also been invited to attend.
The students will publicise fundraising events on their school Facebook page along with the Sun Country Yarrawonga Relay for Life page.
In July students hosted a Trash and Treasure stall at the Cobram Lions Log Cabin Market.
They requested donations from the school community and were successfully in raising over $180 for the cause. This term they have also raised money by cooking toasted sandwiches and making hot drinks at morning tea for staff.
The VCAL enrolled students from the Leo club will be coordinating the school’s involvement and collecting evidence for their Learning Outcomes as part of their Personal Development Unit 2 curriculum.
Staff from the school will also join the Leo group on the relay weekend. Students will be staying at the event overnight at JC Lowe Oval and will be supervised by school staff.
The Leo group have also been invited to join the Cobram based Oasis Movers and Shakers team and will work on fundraising together for this wonderful cause. Already the school has assisted the OM&S fundraising over $900.
Relay for Life is a chance for communities to recognise and celebrate those who have overcome cancer or are undergoing treatment, as well as the people who care for them.
Relay For Life also provides an opportunity to celebrate the memory of loved ones lost to cancer.
There are no restrictions when it comes to Relay for Life. You don’t have to be over 18 to get involved – anyone can do it.
Students and staff are looking forward to raising the awareness of Relay for Life and working together as a team to help support this great cause.
