Corowa Business Chamber Secretary Kay Fredericks writing notes during the meeting to discuss how this year’s Christmas Street Festival will run.

Plans for the Corowa Christmas Street Festival have been ramped up as Corowa Events recently locked in the dates for this year’s event - Friday, November 24 and Saturday, November 25.

During a meeting on the evening of September 6, members of Corowa Events, which is a sub-committee of Corowa Business Chamber, met with retailers to devise ideas on how the festival will run.

Friday night will have a focus on children with activities at this stage to include face painting, jumping castles, hay mazes, chalk drawing, raffles and a visit from Santa Clause and his elves.

Children will once again this year have the opportunity to have their photograph taken with Santa.

Dance groups, choirs and late night shopping is also being organised for the Friday night which is planned to run between 5.30pm and 7.30pm at this stage.

Meanwhile, Saturday looks like being a longer event that may kick off from 3.30pm and run until 10pm.

There will be children’s entertainment as well as live music and tables and chairs in the street for people to enjoy food and drinks.
