The Corowa-Rutherglen Junior Football Club is excited to be hosting a new event over summer – a 10km run or relay.
In what will ultimately become an annual event, the inaugural 10km run or relay will take place at John Foord Oval on December 10.
The run is designed to be accessible to all fitness levels and will consist of two races, with participants entering as individuals or as a relay team of up to four runners.
The 10km course consists of four laps and how you construct your relay team is up to you, for example, four runners can do one lap each or a team of two runners can break the laps up to suit their ability.
Alternatively, three runners could compete with one runner doing two laps.
To ensure the authenticity of the race, it will be professionally electronically timed.
The course consists of the areas between and including the football and cricket grounds.
The run will add to the fantastic athletic events that are currently being held in Corowa, the Corowa Swimming Club triathlon and Corowa Cricket Club fun run, both held in January, giving Corowa locals and visitors an opportunity to enjoy and participate in a local endurance sporting season.
So, as we are saying goodbye to the cold and hello to the weather conditions that entice us to get outside, mark December 10 down on your calendars and start the conversations with your family, workmates or friends and get your team selected.
