At their August meeting, Rodney Country Women’s Association members held a cake auction to raise funds for the McGrath Foundation.
A good number attended, including two families of Rodney CWA junior members, with an enjoyable night had by all.
Rodney CWA will host its 16th Women’s Breakfast on Wednesday, October 18 at the Tatura Tennis Club rooms from 7am to 9am at a cost of $10.
Guest speaker will be Greater Shepparton City Council’s deputy mayor Kim O’Keeffe, who will present the talk ‘My Journey – creating opportunities, volunteering and success’, which will finish before 8.30am for people to get to work on time.
Those not working will have time to ask questions and enjoy fellowship after the presentation.

Goulburn Valley West CWA Group held its conference at the Harston Hall last month.
New CWA Victoria president Lyn Harris was there and outlined progress at the state level.
The constitution is being re-written and updated, and renovations are taking place at Victoria’s CWA head office Umina, which also operates as a bed and breakfast.
CWA has joined forces with palliative care in a ‘Dying to Talk’ program with nine CWA groups involved in discussions about end-of-life issues.
CWA has also been granted government money for domestic violence issues and is using this for a website or internet services relating to domestic violence.
On a local group level, the craft group has been making chemotherapy bottle bags which have been distributed to the Kyabram and Shepparton private hospitals for patient use.
GV West CWA Group will hold its Creative Arts Exhibition at Victory Hall, Tatura on Sunday, October 1 from 10.30am to 4pm and the public is invited to attend.
There will be lots of crafts, floral displays and demonstrations (spinning), plus baking and preserves as well as a raffle and trading table selling a variety of goods.
Devonshire tea will also be available throughout the day for $5.
