Cobram tennis teams came up against some strong opposition on the weekend.

Cobram Lawn Tennis Club is preparing for an exciting season with all ages and abilities catered for.

Junior players will once again have the opportunity to learn the game and hone their skills through competition and coaching.

The club has welcomed new club coach, Greg Duns.

Duns is a Level Three High Performance coach and comes with a long history of coaching including 2005 Wimbledon doubles champion Steven Huss as a junior.

The Saturday morning competition will commence on Saturday, October 14.

The competition is split into two grades, with B-grade introducing those children who are able to serve and hit a ball but yet to learn the game.

A-grade is aimed at proficient players generally aged between 12 and 16.

Children are placed in teams according to ability and experience and all players must be registered prior to October 7 to be placed in a team.

Registrations will take place between 5pm and 6pm on Monday, September 18 and Tuesday, September 19 at the Cobram Lawn Tennis clubrooms.
