Juniors padding up for another season

September 15, 2017

Lacy Parsons is excited for the Junior Redbacks program.

BACK by popular demand, Kyabram Cricket Club will host a Junior Redback program once again this year.

Tailored to girls and boys from ages four to eight, the nine-week program teaches kids the fundamentals in a fun, engaging environment.

In addition to training from coordinator Jason Parsons, the budding cricketers will enjoy visits from other senior players along the way.

Coordinator Kylie Parsons said the program had been a hit with both kids and their parents in past years.

‘‘We have a lot of kids returning after last year,’’ she said.

‘‘In addition to cricket skills, children learn to be patient and take turns — plus we make it heaps of fun, so they’re always engaged.’’

The Junior Redback program registration night is on Thursday, September 14 at 4.30pm at the Kyabram Recreation Reserve cricket nets.

Training nights are at 5pm on Thursdays at the Kyabram Recreation Reserve.

The program runs from October 19 to December 14.
