Following on from the success of last year, the Art Fest for 2017 is on this upcoming weekend, September 16 and 17, at the Cobram Showgrounds.
The Art Fest 2017 is presented by Moira Arts & Culture and provides a unique opportunity to learn a new skill or to enhance an existing one.
More than 20 workshops will be offered over the weekend, once again.
Participants have the opportunity to undertake in-depth, full-day workshops or up to four half-day tasters, for a real creativity boost.
Quality tutors have been engaged to share their knowledge and provide hands-on experiences.
Tutors include Harrison Collins for blacksmithing, Raymond Hill for oil or acrylic painting, Kim Carter for textile art and Michelle Bordignon for patchwork piecing and quilting workshops.
‘‘We are also excited to have Ross Paterson agree to tutor the watercolour workshop,’’ Art Fest co-ordinator Karyn Day said.
‘‘Ross is recognised as one of Australia’s best artists in watercolour and oil.’’
Other workshops include working with wool, felting, leatherwork, photography, clay work and leadlighting.
Workshops are for those aged 16 years and older.
There will be a tutors’ display over the weekend, for participants to see examples of the tutors’ work.
A preview of this display will be open to the public on Friday night from 5pm to 7pm at Killara House.
Moira Arts & Culture is sponsored by Moira Shire Council.
