The West course was the venue for Tuesday’s stableford with 46 players.

A-grade winner was Ray Findlay (16) with 36 points ahead of runner-up Chris Forster (14) on 35 points.

B-grade was won by Hans Vandenberg (36) with 40 points from runner-up Kevin Hocking (36) on 37 points.

Nearest the pins: fifth John Dobbie, 13th David Wilson, 16th Dave Woods.

Golfer of the Year: four points to Hans Vandenburg, three points to Kevin Hocking, two points to Ray Findlay, one point to Andy Forsyth.

Balls down the line to 31 points.

SUPER VETS

Five players took to the West course on Wednesday with George G. victorious with a nett 38.

Balls were given out to 30 points: Peter Mansell. Giuliana’s prize: Max Harrison.

Next week to be played on the front nine of the Old course.

WOMEN

The St George Pharmacy Barooga kindly sponsored Wednesday’s event which saw 42 players on the Old course playing stableford.

A-grade winner was Jan Curran (17) with 38 points (a great return to form) from runner-up Rhonda Rettke (29) with 37 points countback.

B-grade winner was Pam Power (45) on 40 points (one to watch for a big handicap reduction) ahead of runner-up Betty Oldham (35) on 35 points.

Nearest the pins: eighth Terry Mentha, 12th Robyn Jackson, second shot to the sixth (B-grade only) Julie Glance.

Down the line balls and pro balls to 34 points on a countback: Marg Rhode, Jenny Tom, Robyn Jackson, Terry Mentha, Bev Peacock and Gai Mitchelson.

THURSDAY COMPETITION

A field of 69 men and seven women played a par event on the West course.

Men’s A-grade winner was Noel Milligan (16) with 5-up and the B-grade winner was Ross Lacy (26) 1-up countback.

Nearest the pins: fifth Col Smith, eighth B J Miller, 13th Steve Carr and 16th blown away.

Balls down the line: four balls to 2-up, three balls to 1-up, two balls to 1-down and 1 ball to 2-down.

The women’s winner was Edna Wisneiwski (17) 1-up on a countback.

Nearest the pins: fifth Edna Wisneiwski, 13th Marg R. Wallace.

Two balls to 1-up, one ball to 4-down.

SATURDAY COMPETITION

A stableford event was played on the West course by 71 men and 16 women.

Men’s A-grade winner was Stephen Naughton (13) with 38 points while the B-grade winner was Jeff Lancaster (22) with 37 points.

Nearest the pins: fifth Jeff Hughes, eighth Dale Casley, 13th Noel Stephens, 16th Ray Stringer and the Pro Pin was won by Noel Stephens.

Balls down the line: four balls to 37 points, three balls to 36 points, two balls to 34 points and one ball to 33 points.

The women’s winner was Lorraine Fox (23) on 37 points.

Nearest the pins: fifth Jan Curran and the 13th won by Terry Mentha.

Balls down the Line: two balls to 35 points and one ball to 33 points.

SLOMEN

Sunday’s event was sponsored by Ambience Bakery which saw 21 players competing.

The A-grade winner was Brian Oldham with 42-7-35 nett and the B-grade winner was R. Sampson 57-20-37.

Balls to nett 40: J. Munro, P. Barrie, R. McDiarmid, B. Haley, W. Magee, M. Harrison and R. Connor.

Nearest the pins: sixth Peter Barrie, eighth Scoota.

Longest drive: Betty’s Boy Brian Oldham. NAGA: C. Nolan.

Next week: back nine of the West course, 7-8am.
