Crime Stoppers Victoria will receive $2.8 million over the next four years as part of a $25 million crime-prevention package.

Crime Stoppers Victoria chief executive officer Erika Owens has welcomed the Victorian Government’s Community Safety Statement funding announcement.

Ms Owens said Crime Stoppers Victoria was delighted to receive this funding, ensuring the charity could continue its important work to keep the community safe.

‘‘Crime Stoppers Victoria plays a unique role in our community, as the only not-for-profit crime intelligence and crime-prevention service in Victoria,’’ Ms Owens said.

‘‘We’re extremely grateful to the Victorian Government for its support and commitment to make Victoria a safer place.

‘‘This funding will go a long way to ensure we can continue our important work with Victoria Police and all our other stakeholders.

Crime Stoppers Victoria is a not-for-profit crime detection, reporting and prevention organisation.

It works with a range of stakeholders to produce a suite of campaigns, services, programs and projects to improve community safety outcomes.

Community information is integral to the success of this service, leading to thousands of crimes being solved every year.
