Movember has officially kicked off, with the blokes at Brunker Fabrications all getting involved in the cause.

The staff will grow out their ‘lip rugs’ for the whole month of November to raise awareness of men’s health.

Brunker Fabrications owner Andrew ‘Taffy’ Brunker says his staff will be teaming with Purtills for the annual fundraiser.

‘‘Everyone’s been affected by mental health issues whether it be ourselves or a family member or friend,’’ he said.

‘‘When I was involved with coaching junior footy I became a bit of a father figure to a few players; they’d let me know what was going on and would open up if they were struggling a bit. We need to encourage everyone to speak up.

‘‘We’ll all throw some money towards Movember but we mainly want to raise awareness for men’s health, both physical and mental.’’

Mr Brunker said an end of month event is in the works for those involved with Brunkers and Purtills.

‘‘Everyone’s excited to see the results at the end of the month,’’ he said.

‘‘We’ll probably have some novelty prizes at the end as well.’’
