A new website with a particular focus on local tourism opportunities has been launched by Finley Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture.
Chamber president Gary Carr said the website will allow chamber and community groups to communicate more easily when organising events.
The website has an improved calendar feature, and was specifically designed to limit Southern Riverina towns from having competing events on at the same time.
The modern website is also more user friendly for locals and visitors looking for business contact details, town features and photos of what’s on offer.
‘‘Quite often events can clash, not just between Finley groups but with other big events held around the Berrigan Shire,’’ Mr Carr said.
‘‘If chamber knows a big event is happening in Berrigan, Tocumwal, Barooga and Jerilderie we’ll post it on the calender so our groups know if their event will be affected by what’s happening in the other towns.’’
Mr Carr said the new website will be a ‘‘huge benefit’’ to the Finley community.
‘‘Not only will this website service the town but it will be a more user friendly website than the previous one,’’ he said.
‘‘The colours and overall design is more welcoming than the dull version we were using.
‘‘Many of our businesses live and die off tourism so if we can showcase something straight away with the new website than it’s a selling point with tourists.
‘‘The old website looked as though it was made in 2006 and pretty much stayed the same, so it was high time it needed an update.
‘‘The new version is stylish, modern and is exactly what Finley needs.’’
The new-look website can be found as the same web address — www.finley.org.au.
