IT’S already been one year since the Murray River Tea Rooms opened their doors.
The tea rooms are a social enterprise which combine an op shop and cafe.
Volunteers from all walks of life, ages and abilities assist with various aspects of the tea rooms, seeing the positive impact of their contribution first hand.
‘‘This has in turn created wonderful opportunities for people with a disability who volunteer to be provided with mentoring, training and support,’’ Community Living and Respite Services chief executive Suzanna Barry said. ‘‘It has been enormously satisfying to see the increase in confidence and skills develop over the past year.’’
Support from local businesses, clubs and community members has also seen the tea rooms continue to flourish.
To celebrate the achievements of the past year and thank the community for their support, a week-long 50 per cent off sale starts at the tea rooms from Monday, May 7.
