$10K injection for new hospital centre

ECHUCA Regional Health’s proposed cancer and wellness centre has been given a $10,000 injection.

The money was raised at this year’s Bunnaloo Charity Ball, which was the most successful yet, attracting more than 200 people in March.

Recently, the Four Halls and a Weigh Bridge committee, responsible for organising the bi-annual ball, handed over a cheque to ERH.

‘‘The committee felt that the proposed cancer and wellness centre was a very exciting and worthy cause which will potentially assist so many locals into the future,’’ the committee’s Rachel Kelly said.

Ms Kelly said the ball included a charity auction and raffle, with all items donated by local businesses.

‘‘We were completely blown away by the generosity of the local businesses who jumped on board and supported this event,’’ she said.

‘‘Our ability to raise such a significant amount of money is thanks to these businesses.’’

ERH chief executive Michael Delahunty thanked the committee for its generous donation.
