Pop and Pour gets big, bubbly boost

MOAMA’S Perricoota Pop and Pour Festival has secured $20,000 from the NSW Government’s incubator event fund.

The fund assists rural and regional events in their first or second year to grow attendance and boost the local visitor economy.

Event organiser Jacqueline Wegener said she was thrilled to receive the support from the State Government.

“The festival is a genuine showcase of our region and its irrefutable natural beauty. Faith in our events indicates a shared appreciation for our region,” she said.

Mrs Wegener said events are a major driver of tourism, attracting visitors from outside the region.

“Quality food, wine and cultural events have a proven history of attracting new people to our region,” she said

“The support received from NSW Government will help us ensure the Perricoota Wine Region is prominent in the minds of potential visitors, and our region looks forward to welcoming visitors with open arms”.

State Member for Murray Austin Evans said events like the Pop and Pour Festival play an important role in driving additional overnight visitation to the region.

“The festival is a fantastic way to fuel our local economy by putting more heads on hotel beds, diners in our restaurants and shoppers in our boutiques, and I am delighted this event will benefit from the NSW Government’s support,” he said.

The festival will be held on November 24.
