Theft from Mitchelton

Vehicle theft

A Toyota Landcruiser utility, along with a large amount of power tools and generators was stolen from Mitchelton Winery recently.

The thieves cut padlocks from locked gates, entering from Mitchelltown Rd and forcing their way into sheds about 11.30am on Sunday, November 26.

A Nissan Navara was also stolen from outside a Goulburn St house overnight on Sunday/Monday morning.

Stolen motorbike

A blue Yamaha motorcycle was stolen from a shed on a rural property on Manse Hill Rd sometime between midday on Wednesday, November 29 and 2.30pm the next day.

The shed is the only building on the block and a padlock was cut from the main gate to gain entry.

The shed door was then rammed with a vehicle, and the tin wall lifted up to enable entry.

Marijuana possession

A 20-year-old Seymour man has been charged with possession and use of cannabis after an amount of green vegetable matter was found on him.

Police spoke with the man and conducted the search after they spotted him walking along Anzac Ave about 11pm Sunday.

A 36-year-old woman, again from Seymour, was given a drug caution notice after cannabis was found on her.

This followed on from a routine licence check after she was seen driving along O’Shea Crt in the early hours of Sunday morning. She was also given a penalty notice for driving an unregistered car.

Ice bust

Another routine check by police saw a Yea man being charged with trafficking and possessing methylamphetamine.

Police noticed the 21-year-old walking along Wimble St about 8.15am Wednesday, November 29.

After a search the methylamphetamine was found, along with some money and a set of scales.

Ecstasy possession

A routine licence check by the night-shift patrol in Broadford led to a youth being charged with drug offences.

The 19-year-old from Wandong was a passenger in a car which was checked in Powlett St about 1am on Friday, December 1.

Police allege he was carrying an amount of tablets believed to be ecstasy. He has been charged with trafficking, possession and use of methylamphetamine.

Theft evasion

A would-be thief fled the scene after it is believed he was seen by campers trying to steal copper wiring from beside the railway line at Broadford.

He was spotted in the early hours of Thursday, November 30 behind Lions Park and after being disturbed, ran off, leaving behind the wire.

Stolen trailer

A trailer stolen from a Maxfield Crt, Broadford property overnight Sunday, November 26 and the next morning was later found at a Broadford-Wandong Rd, Broadford property.

Police were led to the property as the trailer had been fitted with tracking device. A Toyota station wagon also stolen in the incident has not yet been located.

School hooligans

A 16-year-old Wallan male and a 15-year-old female from Seymour were given caution notices after allegedly being found climbing out a window at the local college.

The alarm was activated and security nabbed the pair about 11pm Saturday, November 25.
