Police are searching for a red utility after it was stolen and credit cards used in Nagambie

Mitchell Crime Investigation Unit detectives are hoping to identify a thief after two cars were stolen in Nagambie last month.

Police have been told a white utility and a Ford Territory were both stolen from a property on Heathcote-Nagambie Road, sometime overnight on Wednesday, November 22.

The white ute was found a short time later burned out on Sunday Creek Rd, near Broadford-Wandong Rd, in Sunday Creek.

A red ute was seen parked near the burned out ute and investigators are keen to speak to the owner.

Detectives believe a credit card stolen from the Ford Territory was used at a supermarket in North Coburg on November 23 to purchase puppy food.

The Ford Territory was also used during a burglary at a business on High St about 3.20am on November 24 when two safes containing cash were stolen.

The Territory was found later that morning burned out at the cnr of Telegraph Rd and Goulburn Valley Hwy in Seymour.

Investigators have released images of a man that may be able to assist with their inquiries.

They have also released an image of the red ute seen parked near the burned-out ute at Sunday Creek in the hope the owner of that vehicle will contact police.
