Enjoy ‘Hump Day’

By Lachlan Durling

WITH Ky in July fast approaching, Annie Dillon has found the perfect way to help you get through the week.

She’s teamed up with The Camel Milk Co to present ‘Hump Day’.

Yes, for the first two Wednesdays of July you can head to Annie Dillon Flowers and Gifts for camel milk, feta cheese and chocolate tastings.

We’re promised perfect praline chocolate and a fantastic feta which is marinated in garlic and lemon myrtle — a combination chosen by public vote.

“Annie has been one of our best sellers since she opened. She’s been such a great support and it’s an amazing effort for a local business,” Camel Milk Co’s Megan Williams said.

But they’ve left the making of the chocolate and feta to the local professionals.

“We don’t have the time to make it but we choose Victorian producers to keep the money local and make sure people are getting the best quality,” Megan said.

“When I told people five years ago that I milked camels I had to wait five minutes for them to stop laughing.”

But it’s taken off, with people around the world searching for Camel Milk Co products, and we’re lucky enough to have them in our main street.

“People buy a lot of the soaps; one customer was coming in here buying them for others but decided she better finally try them for herself,” Annie said.

“A lot of people have been out to the farm for tours and come in to get more products.”

As a Ky in July special, Annie is also offering 20 per cent off gift lines from July 2-14, excluding consignment items and fresh flowers.
