Finley thirds player Luke Bramley single handedly steered his side to victory over Echuca United with the superboot kicking 13 majors at Finley Apex Sports and Community Centre on Saturday.
Luke’s baker’s dozen led to a 112 point percentage boosting win in the round 11 Murray League clash, with the Cats retaining sixth spot on the ladder.
Lachlan Osborne also starred for the Cats along with Duncan Clarke, who finished with two majors on the day.
Closing out Finley’s best were Dylan Maxwell (one goal), Taylor Kleinschmidt and Dan O’Bryan (one).
Final score, Finley 18.10 (118) to Echuca Utd 1.0 (6).
The Cats will have the tough task of facing second placed Cobram at Cobram on Saturday.
Finley’s fourths made their way into the top four following a hard fought 10 point win over the Eagles.
The young Cats started slowly trailing at every change before a 2.2 to 0.1 final term saw them snatch the win from the jaws of defeat.
Robbie Hamann was declared Finley’s best on ground with Shadeau Brain (one goal), Liam Rafferty, Jack Hay, Archie Mason and Eli Sutton also playing well.
Final score, Finley 4.8 (32) to Echuca Utd 3.4 (22).
The Cats will have their work cut out for them in round 12, coming up against an undefeated Cobram side.
