Women’s golf

The stroke monthly medal sponsored by Drummond Golf and Newton’s Parcel Service, was played by some brave women who weathered the cold, cloudy conditions.

Liz Mulcahy played one of her best games to win A-grade and the monthly medal with 70 nett.

Liz won her first medal two months ago and was excited to add another medal (shirt) to her tally, and also to be the first winner of the monthly shirt.

Newton’s Parcel Service is the proud sponsor of the medal shirt voucher each month, replacing the medal brooch provided by Hill Top Golf Club.

The voucher enables the winner of the monthly medal to purchase an embroidered shirt from Logos and Promos.

Jan Coe was runner-up with 73 nett on count back.

Josie De Ieso won B-grade with 78 nett, while Beryl Home was runner-up with 81 nett on count back.

Scratch winner was Jan Coe with 88 strokes.

Ball winners: Terri Wangeman, Lyn Fanning, Janette Hayward 79, Heather Long 80 nett.

Nearest-the-pins: sixth Tatura Hot Bread and ninth Café Alofa, Di Day; 14th One4One Café, Sheryl Curran.

Deb Reilly and Robyn Downs are generously sponsoring the event tomorrow, for which Hill Top is grateful.

Golfers are asked to see president Francie Mark if you would like to sponsor an event.

Wednesday’s event: stableford, third round silver spoon: sponsors: Deb Reilly and Robyn Downs.
