Those looking to hand over the reins of the farm are being encouraged to attend a series of workshops on succession planning and share-farming.
Hosted by Murray Dairy, the events will lay out a number of different options for stepping up and stepping back as well as learning what to look for when entering into an agreement.
The workshops provide successful case studies from dairy businesses across Australia and also delve into the finances, the negotiation and the contracts you can use and understanding your legal rights and obligations.
Taking Steps workshops, which explore leasing, share-farming and shared equity arrangements, will be run from 10.30am to 3pm at the Agriculture Victoria offices at 255 Ferguson Rd, Tatura, on Thursday, June 21.
More workshops are planned in Echuca on Tuesday, July 24, Kyabram on Friday, August 3, and Finley on Friday, August 17.
The Stepping Back workshops are planned for Cohuna on Wednesday, July 18, Rochester on Monday, July 23, and Cobram on Thursday, August 2.
