Cobram Barooga Apex Club will pay homage to the legacy of the Peaches and Cream concerts this weekend when it hosts an outdoor cinema at Thompsons Beach.

The community event, titled Peaches and Screen, nods to Cobram-Barooga’s past by aiming to make a difference to its future.

There will be a charge of $5 on the door, with all proceeds going towards funding a new cinema in Cobram.

Apex Club member Adrian Salter urged residents to rally behind the project.

‘‘Even though we are asking for $5, we encourage people to dig a bit deeper and contribute to the new cinema because at the end of the day it will benefit the whole community,’’ he said.

Gates open at 7.30pm and it is BYO seats, blankets and drinks.

Some of Australia’s favourite larrikins will feature on the big screen, with Kenny screening Saturday night, while Crackerjack will be shown Sunday night.
