Terry Gale steps out for Tatura Bowling Club.

Tatura’s division two, currently in fifth spot on the ladder, appears certain to have blown its chances of finals action by going down to fourth-placed Mooroopna by eight shots, 87 to 95. The loss was despite winning three of the four rinks.

Terry Gale had a solid 12-shot victory against Graham Power 28-16 and Peter LeSueur’s rink dominated the last five ends to claim victory against Alan Donaldson 28-18.

John Attwood had a tough tussle against Ian Ponting but held on for a tight three-shot victory, 24-21.

Unfortunately, Jason Carter’s rink had a game best forgotten, being soundly defeated by 31 shots, 9-40.

Tatura lost overall 87-95 and gained six points to its opponents’ 12.

Division two is now 21 points behind fourth-placed side Mooroopna with only two games remaining.

Tatura’s division five Blue fought the game out with ladder-leader Stanhope and at times was leading on the overall scoreboard.

With individual rinks having close contests, it was all up to who could come home best at the concluding stages.

Tatura had its chances, just failing overall by four shots, 60-64, and gaining two points to 14.

Brand ‘Ned’ Cooper was Tatura’s only winning rink, defeating David Grant by three shots 20-17.

Dave Westin lost by two shots to Peter Myers, and Derrick Miller lost 19-24 against Norm Cheong.
