A passion for art was the catalyst for Norelle Snelling opening Waterwheel Art Supplies and Studio.

Norelle decided to open her business nine years ago.

‘‘I liked the building and it was something that I wanted to do for a long time,’’ she said.

Waterwheel Art Supplies and Studio offers a wide range of fine art supplies and tools for artists of any skill level.

‘‘I try to cover a broad range with the space I have,’’ Norelle said.

‘‘The small shop works for me.’’

Norelle also runs popular art classes four days a week, teaching people new techniques and helping them with existing projects.

‘‘I like to help people with it and give them hints,’’ she said.

‘‘I help with colour mixing and help them progress.’’

Norelle will host a Paint, Paper and Play Day on Friday, May 11, in conjunction with Canson Australia.

Participants will get the chance to look at Canson paper products and test them out.

The day will be split in to two sessions. The first will run from 10am to noon, while the second will involve playing with ink and will be held from 1pm to 3pm.

Waterwheel Art Supplies and Studio is at 201 Hogan St, Tatura.

Visit Norelle from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday.
