LOCALS who want to know more about the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) should head to Stanhope.
The NDIS Intereach information van — or iVan — will be at the Stanhope Post Office next Thursday and NDIS staff will be on hand to answer any questions.
Since 2017, iVan and the crew have made 77 visits to towns across the region; seeing about 1000 people and answering thousands of questions.
“The great thing about iVan is because we’re out in the community and quite visible, people will approach us for a chat,” Intereach chief executive Keryn Fox said.
“iVan really gets us into the heart of our local communities, helps us meet people face-to-face and be able to answer their questions about the NDIS — so stop by for a chat, we’re always happy to help.”
Intereach is partnering with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to deliver the NDIS in the shires of Campaspe, Central Goldfields, Greater Bendigo, Loddon, Macedon Ranges and Mount Alexander.
Since May 1, 2017 the NDIS has been available to people under the age of 65 with a permanent and significant disability who live in the region.
iVan will be at the post office at 34 Birdwood Ave from 9-11am on Thursday, March 22.
