Women residents of Moyola Aged Care gathered for a lovely afternoon tea to celebrate International Women’s Day on Thursday, March 8.

A group of residents enjoyed scones and tea while listening to a few guest speakers from the local community.

Ruth McCracken, Marilyn Poppelstone and Trish Warnett shared their life stories and photos with the residents after hearing about the history of International Women’s Day.

‘‘It was a lovely day and the scones were beautiful,’’ Mrs McCracken said.

Moyola Aged Care lifestyle co-ordinator Carmel Wearne enjoyed celebrating women on the special day. ‘‘It’s great getting the residents together to celebrate how far we have come,’’ Ms Wearne said.

Some residents also completed an activity in which their hands were traced and they filled each finger with personal details that defined them.
