ST AUGUSTINE’S students were encouraged to dig deep this Lent when they were visited by Caritas Australia representatives recently.

Regional manager of Caritas Nepal Janak Sherma, who is based in Kohalpur, initiated and leads the Children and Youth Program provided by Caritas.

Janak spoke about just how much students’ generosity helps support the work Caritas does in communities around the world.

Caritas Nepal, partnered by Caritas Australia, works with Ekata Foundation Surkhet to deliver valuable support for vulnerable youth in the state of Surkhet in Nepal.

Janak was accompanied by Eleanor Trinchera, Caritas Australia’s program coordinator for Nepal and Bangladesh, as well as Fr Rom Hayes, diocesan director and Kerry Stone, diocesan coordinator.
