MEMBER for Murray Damian Drum has thrown his support behind our local Rotary Club by presenting them with an Australian flag recently at the Memorial Gardens.

The Rotary Club contacted Mr Drum in regards to getting a new Australian flag to run up the pole — and he was more than happy to oblige.

Mr Drum met Rotary Club secretary John Martin and president Graham Warren at the gardens to present the flag.

“It’s great to see someone like Damian get behind us and what we are doing here at the Rotary Club,” Mr Martin said.

“He has taken a serious interest in what we are doing and that is all we can ask.

“They’ve been great to deal with ever since we first made contact so we appreciate that support very much.”

The Rotary Club has a few big events they will use the new flag for in the near future.

“We had Easter, Australia Day and ANZAC Day all approaching so we thought what a great time it was to get a new flag and have it ready for those.”
