IF YOU’VE got a quilt to show off, now’s the time.
The Heathcote Quilters will be holding their biennial quilt exhibition at Barrack Reserve during the Queen’s birthday long weekend and are looking for people to take part.
“It’s free to enter a quilt and we are really looking for quilts from people in a 50km-or-so radius of Heathcote and there are no strict entry conditions,” Heathcote Quilters president Christine Smith said.
“It’s a viewer’s choice vote and there are some quilting prizes for the winners.”
The day will also feature a raffle and the CWA will be providing refreshments with a Devonshire Tea and other goods.
With the quilters moving to Barrack Reserve, Christine said the exhibition will be easier to set up.
“The facility really is perfect for the exhibition — now all we have to do is get everything out of storage instead of store it all at everyone’s houses,” she said.
“We also have larger stands now so we can cater for bigger quilts and the football club requested an away game so we could set up and run the show — it’s terrific of them.”
Entries close on April 30 and the exhibition will run from June 9-10 with entry a $5 donation.
