Cobram Roar has atoned for the previous week’s 4-0 thrashing at the hands of league heavyweight Myrtleford by taking care of Albury Hotspurs at the weekend in Albury.
The Roar was hardly troubled by the competition’s cellar dwellers, with Tyler Seabrook scoring a hat trick in the 8-2 rout.
Sean Willis opened the scoring in the third minute for the Roar and just eight minutes later the lead was doubled when Aaron Feldtmann jumped on the scoresheet.
The Hotspurs managed to arrest some momentum to go into half-time just 2-0 down and even had a glimmer of hope when they pulled one back in the 46th minute.
But the Albury crowd was silenced when Seabrook scored the first of his three second-half goals in the 57th minute.
The Roar went on to score another five goals in a devastating 20-minute period of dominance where Greg Simmons and Seabrook each scored twice.
Carlo Meola was the other goal scorer for the Roar in the morale-boosting display.
It its next match Cobram will host Wodonga Diamonds who are coming off a 4-1 defeat to Melrose.
The young Diamonds have been competitive in most of their matches this year but the Roar should enter as warm favourite.
