Berrigan’s thirds picked up their second win of the Picola & District League season, downing Katamatite by 35 points to move to eighth spot on the ladder on Saturday.

Berrigan’s thirds picked up their second win of the Picola & District League season, downing Katamatite by 35 points to move to eighth spot on the ladder on Saturday.

Tom Whelan starred for the Saints, booting six goals in a stirring display.

Final score, Berrigan 9.7 (61) to Katamatite 3.8 (26).

Berrigan fourths also recorded their second win of the season.

After being kept scoreless in the first half the Saints booted two goals in the third quarter, holding on to a slender one point lead in the final term.

Hamish Cameron, who is having a fantastic year on the field, was again a standout and played with great leadership.

Darcy Pyle and Matt Whelan were other standouts on the day while Liam Brown , Caleb Thornton and Harrison Lappin also played well.

Final score, Berrigan 2.1 (13) to Katamatite 1.6 (12).
