CAMPASPE Shire Council has adopted the Electric Line Clearance Management Plan 2017-18, meeting its responsibilities under the Electricity Safety Act 1998. The purpose of the plan is to mitigate against the impacts of vegetation on power lines in the declared areas of Kyabram, Echuca and Rochester.

Council is required to develop an Electric Line Clearance Management Plan and review it annually. Updating of the plan takes account of any new legislation and is informed by data collected by council’s arborist who conducts an annual audit to identify vegetation that has, or has the potential to, encroach into the clearance space.

A program of vegetation clearing is compiled from the results of the audit and a contractor will be engaged to remove the identified vegetation.
