Mayor Adrian Weston said the community was asked to vote for preferences on car park layout, boulevard of trees and capture other comments earlier this year to feed into the final design plans.

CAMPASPE Shire Council is finalising design plans for the Rushworth streetscape to support the redevelopment of High St between Bendigo-Murchison Rd and Wigg St.

Mayor Adrian Weston said the community was asked to vote for preferences on car park layout, boulevard of trees and capture other comments earlier this year to feed into the final design plans.

This was supported by a pop-up street session where staff talked with the community, again to feed information back into the design plans.

“A good response was received from the community which will now inform the final design plans,” Cr Weston said.

“We are on track to present them back to the community by mid-July.”

Key elements of feedback included the configuration of the car park at the north end of High St and the number and type of trees to be added to the boulevard.

Council said it looks forward to delivering a great outcome for the Rushworth community when the plan is presented.
